So what are the official Katrinas in this year? 'cause much as I love k.d.l., she's gotta be in k-territory.

k.d. is in  there, but Life Is A Highway, 3 Nirvana songs, Breaking The Girl, Broken Glass & All 4 Love are as bad or worse.

So what are we hearing right now? This power-ballady thing is totally off my radar.

ETA: It just hit me--is this Metallica, off that record they did with the SF Symphony?
Let's get right to it.

"Nothing Else Matters," from the same album as "Unforgiven" and "Enter Sandman," but sans SF Symphony.  Heard way too much of those singles during college.

BOS to INXS, "Not Enough Time," pretty little thing.

BOS2 Jerry Brown, beating Al Gore to the punch!

in 1989 when I was a chaffeur, I had each of them as all-day customers.  The first time I heard about global warming was directly from Al Gore's mouth while standing outside my car chatting.  Jerry was funny, picked him up at the airport but had to drive past him to find a parking spot, so when I walked back to meet him he told me that he was worried that I hadn't recognized him.  Took him to a bar mitzvah, among other things.

News flash - Romney just dropped out!

And in doing so accused Obama and Clinton quite directly of "surrendering to terror," whatever the fuck that's supposed to mean.  Good riddance, Rom-bot.

How many years has it been since Dave did an all-foreign-language set?  He used to do them yearly in the late '90s ...

Rommy: You can't buy your way into the White House. Your cash ain't nuthin but trash.
(I was late to the forum here today getting tix for Steve Miller/Robben Ford at the Fillmore).
