Kasey's Kountdown: Feb 1st 1975. Fab so far -- this is a sledgehammer-laden chart for me; an emotionally confusing time in my life.

Yikes, they're giving us "Chevy van" as an extra. And it's followed by paul Anka and Odia Coates, "One Man Woman (Two-timin' Man)" OMFG!

Back at #40 we had really obscure Temps -- "Happy People."  I slept from 35 through 21, unfortunately, but got to hear Mac Davis's "Rock & Roll (I Gave You the Best Years of My Life)."  And, of course, "One Man Woman / One Woman Man."  Did people not mind that Anka has such a smarmy, colorless voice?

What was "That's My Mama"?

An early "black" sitcom. Mr Davis as a batchelor with a sassy fat mother. I kid you not.

OMG! Carol Douglas. "oh please! PLEASE! Come on home!"

Back in the late '70s, we had the Eagles' 1971-75 GH on 8-track.  "Best of My Love" got caught between programs, and so as it got to "we could never rise above ..." the track would rapidly fade - CLICK - and then proceed.  I still hear the false ending and the click in my head today when I hear this.

I discovered during last Saturday's countdown that Donny Osmond appeared on about 30 Top 40 hits between '71 and '75.  Crazy!

Donny & Marie get Best Forgotten Cheeze of the Morning -- and that's saying something, given this chart. And -- swoon -- here's "Mandy"!

I had to switch over to KFOG ("Closer to Home") while Karen (and perhaps Richard too) wait for a special delivery.

Ms Ronstadt's fab "You're No Good".  Not bad for an LP she recorded to satisfy a contract she thought was finished.
