I remember when that came out.  I was very impressed with the lyrical quality of EJ's playing.  I found it much more attractive than Joe Satriani's playing, with whom he's inevitably compared.

I was stunned that it went Top 10 -- the keyboard riff seemed awfully Peanuts at the time, and even then I knew that songs about how tough it is to be a celebrity don't necessarily win style points -- but I still kinda like it.  Vastly superior, and sadly forgotten though it was a No. 1 hit, was its predecessor, "Praying for Time."  (One of very few "serious" songs I've ever performed in karaoke, and it went over quite well.)
