At 5:24pm EST: the sole "X" entry in KBCO's A-Z is Ziggy Marley's "X Marks the Spot," new to me and far inferior to both "X-Offender" and "Xanadu."

A quick check of the "Just played" list shows they played a fair amount of W songs, but kinda wimped out on the V's--exactly four songs: Veronica, Vertigo, Voices Carry, and Voices Inside My Head. Surely they could have come up with more than that.

But if they're in the Y section right now, it seems almost assured they'll be done sometime today--early tomorrow morning at the outside.

I was listening Saturday when they jumped from "Touch of Grey" to "Train in Vain" (skipping the likes of "Town without Pity" and "Tracks of My Tears") and then to "Trip Thru Your Wire" (ignoring "Tramp", "Trampled Under Foot" and "Travelin' Band"). Well, whatever.

FYI, The Drive is starting *their* version of A-to-Z on Monday; they'll pre-empt 10@10 for the duration. Their website says it'll last a week, so nowhere near the depth of KFOG or KBCO.

And so The Drive is in the "All" column:

"All My Lovin'"
"All Night Long"
"All Right Now"
"All She Wants To Do Is Dance"
"All Shook Up"

Yay! I was hoping for "All Together Now" and here it is.

ETA: into "All You Need is Love" for a Fab Four Twin-Spin.

"All" Beatles, "all" the time.  (Though the Elvis was a surprise.)

[I put the above line in the wrong place, whoops!

Biggest surprise in the "A"s: Boston's lambasted "Amanda."

More "bang" for yer buck:

"Bang a Gong", T.Rex
"Bang on the Drum", Todd

followed by "Bare Trees", appropriate for a day when it was 10 degrees in Chiacgo & NY.

one of the nicest surprises yet in anybody's A-to-Z: Gordon Lightfoot's lovely "Beautiful".

Haven't listened to the Drive's A-Z until now, but enjoyed spending the last hour in the Don't songs.  Started with BJ "Don't Ask Me Why" and continued through yay the Beatles "Don't Let Me Down", to be followed I'm sure by Mike's favorite Elton wisecrack.

copy editor's note: they completely ignored/removed the parentheses from "(Don't Fear) The Reaper"
"Music is the Earth, People are the Flowers, and I am the Hose."

I never knew there WERE parentheses in that title!

From the ridiculous to the sublime: The Drive's A-to-Z just segged from EJ's "Island Girl" to George's "Isn't It A Pity".

I don't know how they're planning to finish within the week; they're only in the M's now ("Marrakech Express," "Mary Jane's Last Dance" just now).

Hmmm... promote it as lasting a week, and then when it runs over it makes you look "outta control" -- genius!
