The Peak, 01/11/08: It's 1987

Not a good year for the most part, but everything is wonderful when a set starts with "Mary's Prayer."

“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

OMFG -- I am SOOOO sorry to have missed that -- one of my favorite singles of the decade, and shame on US radio for not making it a bigger hit.

WOS.  (BOS went to Danny Wilson, with HMs to Fmac, Robbie Robertson's "Showdown at Big Sky," and New Order's "True Faith.")

See, the problem with Wall Street is that, like Scarface, it started out intended as a cautionary tale, but instead was embraced as a blueprint.  I can't tell you how saddened I am to see Scarface celebrated on T-shirts and such throughout NYC on a regular basis.
