Heh: Just last night I was reading an I Love Music thread on indecipherable Bernie Taupin lyrics, and this came up: "Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids / In fact, it's cold as hell / And there's no one there to raise them / If ya did."  That really does not make sense.  Unless he's singing "if you're dead" in a really thick accent.

Yes! thank you -- I've always thought that was particularly nonsensical. Unless he's referring to the shortage of nannies on Mars.
