And thank you for posting this review with wonderful photos. This was a historic show. I thought Tony Bennett and Paul McCartney were the best act in recent memory but this lineup was amazing for lack of a better word.

Review of Lady Antebellum show last night at FOX Theater Oakland (apparently not good), after they did Nat'l Anthem at AT&T Park:

Review of Lady Antebellum show last night at FOX Theater Oakland (apparently not good), after they did Nat'l Anthem at AT&T Park:
http://www.mercurynews.com/entertainment/ci_16466379

"Neither of its singers has that strong a voice, nor do they work particularly well together. The music is a watered-down mix of '70s light-rock and '80s pop drivel, bland even in comparison to what's produced by Rascal Flatts — the trio that Lady Antebellum unseated, after a six-year term, as Vocal Group of the Year at the Country Music Association Awards in 2009. And, as we found out at the Fox, the band's stage show is ordinary"

Bwhahahah!  Seriously, for an Anthem at an SF WS game... did the talent booker confuse Lady Antebellum with Lady Gaga, perhaps?

I would not book Gaga either. Roseanne Barr maybe? Scary.

If any of y'all have nothing planned for tonight, go catch the Terry Adams Rock & Roll Quartet at Yoshi's SF. Terry is the mad genius piano player behind NRBQ, and I am told they rocked the house at the Palms in Winters last night. Also, if you have any affinity for Thelonious Monk, you will dig Terry's piano style. I'd go if I were anywhere near there.
Let's get right to it.

Neil Young will headline The Concert for UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital on Wed, Dec 8, at Nob Hill Masonic in SF. Acclaimed singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Joanna Newsom will open the show, which is being underwritten by the Salesforce Foundation. Funds raised through ticket sales will go toward building a new home for UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, one of the nation's best children's medical facilities. http://www.theconcertforucsfbch.com/

I had the most am-a-zing time at the Weezer show last night.  They started out with a song (or two) from each album, beginning with most recent first.  Then Rivers changed into his outfit from the Blue Album cover (loose ringer tee and khakis - early 90's Gen-X wear) and played the album straight through.  It was a sing-a-long and just sooo much fun.  It was also my first time seeing a show at the Masonic Auditorium.  Not the best place to experience a rawk show, though not a bad seat in the house, viewing-wise.

Here's the setlist:

1.  Memories
2.  (If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To
3.  Troublemaker
4.  Pork And Beans
5.  Beverly Hills
6.  Keep Fishin'
7.  Photograph
8.  Island In The Sun
9.  Hash Pipe
10. Falling For You
Blue Album
11. My Name Is Jonas
12. No One Else
13. The World Has Turned And Left Me Here
14. Buddy Holly
15. Undone - The Sweater Song
16. Surf Wax America
17. Say It Ain't So
18. In The Garage
19. Holiday
20. Only In Dreams

No encore.  Bummer.  I was hoping they'd toss in El Scorcho and/or Mykel And Carli.

So, if Lady Antebellum win for "Need You Now", does Alan Parsons get a Grammy?

A video from last night's Concert For Kids, this Doobies song closed the show. I'm stage right, on the aisle, fourth row. At end of the song, and unfortunately just after this clip ends so its not on video, I walked 15 feet to side of stage and shook hands with guitarist Pat Simmons, the one with the top hat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGAVFWcnHnw
