Dear everyone,

I'm trying to sell an extra ticket to the PDQ Bach appearance at Herbst Theater...

I was astounded that he still tours! He's 75, gawd bless 'im.

American Idiot (the stage musical) gets a rave from the NYT. Guess you could say it got a "21 Guns" salute.

I love Hapa's CD's, but have never seen them.  Sounds pretty idyllic if we get good weather in the grove.

Just got home from "Girlfriend" -- loved it. Very Sweet (no pun), funny and touching. Gaz, if this thing gets produced in NY (I'm guessing off-B'way) you absolutely MUST go.

What songs from the album were included in the production? I'm guessing there's a good chance it will make it to NY, given Berkeley Rep's track record as a launching pad for potential Broadway- (or off-Broadway) bound material.
Let's get right to it.

It's about 2/3 of the songs from Girlfriend, including "I've Been Waiting", "Winona", "Evangeline", "Your Sweet Voice", "Looking at the Sun" and the title track... plus a couple from 100% Pure Fun -- "Sick Of Myself", as you'd expect.  The show is something of a love letter to the album, and apprehensive as I was about using such obviously hetero songs in a gay love story, it's quite cleverly put together.  It's also very small and intimate: 2 characters, backed up by a tight rock quartet.

The Electric Flag and Sons of Champlin at the Fillmore 7/17. Two great late '60's bands.

I guess the Wings Over America shows at the Cow Palace in '76 don't count, as that's technically Daly City.
Let's get right to it.

This morning I scored an extra pair of tix for McCartney at AT&T Park 7/10 in an advance pre-sale for Amex card holders.  Tix are for Sec 320 (upper deck behind home plate), row 7, seats 1-2.  Price is what I paid, includes all fees = $145.  If interested, lemme know.  More info: http://www.apeconcerts.com/news_details.cfm?aid=159
