Was away from the radio when dave spun the wheel.

But I've never heard this Chris Rea song before, so points to DM for that alone.

ETA: Yep, 87 confirmed.
Let's get right to it.

nice start with Chris Rea's "Let's dance" -- I'll even give it a BOS.

I am quite sick of Jim & Tammy, tho'

But --OMG! -- BOS2 BonJersey.

another SF memory for me: I had heard the song on Capital Radio that summer (working at ABC), it was a decent-sized UK hit.  Looked everywhere for it, and finally found the 45 at Tower when on vacay here.

Dave cheats and plays "Graceland" in '87 -- and not the first time, iirc. It was indeed a single in '87, but c'mon.

I'd never heard the Chris Rea song before, but I thought it was kinda cheesy, especially the trumpets.  Rarity points but no BOS.

Ah yes, the year of Graceland...  I seem to remember that Paul Simon won just about every Grammy he could this year.
Now I'm eight bits...

VHM to the segue from Stock Market to "Hell in a Bucket" (tho' it's nearly a Katrina all by itself) But (you're way ahead of me) WOS Dead.

Clever segue, but I want to say he's done that one before.

birthday party cheesecake jellybean boom.

OMFG! BOS3 for bustoutiness alone, whoever this is rapping.  But Dave's taste in this genre leaves a lot to be desired.

I was gonna guess Run-DMC at first.  I knew it wasn't the Beasties (whose LP as also '87).

VHM FMac.

No Kidding.  The Db sez that the previous earliest Dave has played RHCP is in 1991, so a bustout by about 4 yrs.  But I know Rob or Ginger or Marcus has played "True Men Don't Kill Coyotes" from even earlier.

true men don't kill coyotes -- unless of course they're fighting like a brave.

So does Atlanta play that song at their games? 'twould seem a natural.
