Here's hoping Marcus can avoid the usual Moreytrinas.

Nice to do the Pop Song "Hi. Hi, Hi" dance, which is very similar to doing the "Car Wash."

Finally a worthy BOS -- Roy Orbison, "Mystery Girl". What a wonderful album this was, all the way thru.

Still firmly in DM territory, but at least it's something worthy of a BOS vote: Roy Orbison, Myftery Girl.
Let's get right to it.

what's Marcus' "Alibi" for being relatively pedestrian in a year that Ginger usually shines?  Oh well, maybe he'll heat up in the 2nd half...

SRV, REM & Clapton all have songs that are katrina's in other years, but the shraytabase scorecard for the first half of Marcus' set (number of times Dave has played the song) will surprise you.

Texas - 2
SRV - 0
REM - 1
Orbison - 4
Clapton - 2

Of course this is strictly a quantity, not quality, evaluation.  I still like the Orbison best out of these 5, no question.

Don't want no Crapton phone-ins, either.  WOS.

wow, that IS surprising -- I'd've guessed the SRV & REM to have been  bigger Morey faves.

I think that might be the topper for this set. Unless Marcus whips out some Stone Roses.

ETA: Just looked at the Just Played list, a couple songs before the set KBCO played Us3 "Cantaloop".  Now that's one I'd give a BOS to if anyone ever played it in the appropriate year without hesitation.

Least necessary: Michael Penn... talk about somebody I really liked at the time who bores me silly now.

Or Was/Not Was -- What Up Dog? was far and away my fave LP of 1989, followed by De la Soul, Neneh Cherry and ubertrinas FYC. Of that quartet we have only heard FYC in ANY 10@10 from '89.
