I was the only one fool enough to go for Nawlins:

Never bet with yer heart, bub.  It did look close there, early on.

I missed the whole thing - a friend from SF is in town (Mark: It's Angela.) and we went to see Shakespeare in the Park. (A Midsummer Night's Dream, with Martha Plimpton the only name I knew in the cast.)

But c'mon, Mike, wouldn't you bet on a smile like this?

I actually do my own on ESPN's and let them take care of the results. I had invited everyone to my group. It's on the sports thread. I guess it got lost in the shuffle or no one wanted to join.

If people want to join before gametime Thursday at http://games.espn.go.com/pigskin/frontpage and search for group name: Yakuza Gaijin and enter password: CowboysSuck it's fine

If you don't want to join, it's fine too.

Dude - you mentioned this some time ago and I completely forgot.  Just registered and jumped in.  Je suis "Joe Mama."  Thanks for the reminder!

I'm in too.  SFGuy, you should still join ours, it's just as easy as the ESPN one, as far as scoring & what not.

For those who chose to join my group, I should note that on Thursday, Saturday and Monday games the deadline for those picks is game time. For the Sunday games, it locks at first kickoff of that day 10AM PT/1PM ET. So if you get your picks in on a Thursday with Sunday/Monday games and say you pick the Colts over Patriots, you could change it on Saturday night or early Sunday morning if say Peyton Manning gets hurt and misses the game.

it looks like Gaz is leading, since anyone who's chosen New Orleans has a point!

if I counted correctly, RGMike, Urth & I all share the lead at 10 heading into tomorrow night's doubleheader.  We all picked SF, so if Cincy wins they wind up tied for 1st, and if Ballimer wins I have it to myself.

I didn't have the stomach to count my losses, as it seems I picked wrong over and over again!

I guess I picked mizzerably. I'm also the only one who didn't pick SF tonight. What do I know!?

Going to the game tonight. Last time I went was about 20 years ago.

actually you may be the only one who picked right on that one -- SF are a trendy "much improved" designee (per the pundits) but very far from a sure thing.

sorry to be competitive, but before tonight I was two points worse than you, and might catch you if the Niners win, but I think Mike has a good point (and if he'd wear a hat, he'd cover it!)

Well the home team pulled thru in the end. Nasty night out there, I left at the end of the third as I was parked way out past Gilman by the water I think. Literally backed up on a gravel incline in the far far last row of some lot way out in no mans land. I'll be happy watching the rest of the season on TV
