It'd be cool, but they might have to kill the stream when he does it. Goddam internet copyright regs, ya know.
Let's get right to it.

I believe it's possible to get "special dispensation" for unique events; dunno how much advance notice you have to give.

I'd suggest alternating selected SP tracks with, say, the Top 5 singles that week in '67 (which I'll have to look up tonite).

Whatever Dave decides, Capital Gold will be playing Sgt Pepper in its entirety at 8am Pacific, so if Bob does a crappy year on the Drive...

Come to think of it, maybe Bob'll play the album too. Or Ginger. Or Rob...

It's official: Dave will be playing the whole LP Friday -- from his original vinyl.

That's a little weird--fifteen minutes til the Sgt. Pepper set starts, and they just played Day Tripper. Beatles in saturation mode, I guess.

I'm assuming Sweeney's Rock Show on CG will be Pepper-centric too.

Dave said "a little pre-Sgt Pepper's Beatles for you, an appetizer shall we say..."

I thought it was cool, not weird.

This should make for an intersting chat, since we all know every track, which one comes next etc.

Or a very boring one

Dave read an email yesterday from someone saying SP is "overrated" (a popular contrarian opinion and certified argument-starter).

Y'know, for a 40-year-old piece of vinyl, this sounds pretty good--Dave did not abuse it too badly, obviously.

Jayson Stark of ESPN has a book out on Over/Under-rated baseball players past & present, and makes the interesting point that you can even argue that Joe DiMaggio was over-rated.  The point being that there's no upper limit to most people's 'rating' system, until you get to deity class anyway, and at some point anyone's achievement can get over-rated.  But first you have to be very highly rated before you can be over-rated.

Personally, I think God is overrated.

"She's Leaving Home" makes me think of the Billy Bragg version on Sgt Pepper Knew My Father the charity SP covers LP from '89 or '90.

Actually, a set of covers of these songs woulda been a cool idea. Shatner, anyone?
