And our first honest-ta-god katrina of the set, Thomas D, I Love You Goodbye.

True, but still a lovely song, and a Narada for me anyway.

I really like it too.  It's from "Astronauts and Heretics", which I have and enjoy.

Pretty boring footage from the presidential debate.

from the dept. of What If...?

...imagine if Ross Perot had the looks of John Kerry in '92, or if John Kerry had the attitude of Ross Perot in 2004.

I emailed Dave with the traditional "whatever happened to your promise to play "I Wanna Sex U Up" occasionally?" message.

nice speech from George HW Bush.  What I would have given if his son's team had been as committed to a smooth a transition in 2000.  By most accounts it was one of the worst in history.

HM for Hotel Illness.  Not too overplayed, I think.  I was thinking of the Crowes earlier in the "misheard lyrics" portion of our program, but it was for "Hard to Handle".

WTF!?  Since when is Dave allowed to play "Breaking the Girl" without the Clarence Thomas/Anita Hill newsclip?

BOS from me on purely sledgehammer grounds.

Just checked the files--we last went to '92 on April 3. Here's what we heard:

Quote

1. Black Crowes - Sting Me
2. Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
3. Talking Heads - Lifetime Piling Up
4. REM - The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonight
5. Tom Cochran - Life is a Highway
6. Concrete Blonde - Caroline
7. Dada - Dizz Knee Land (BEST OF SET!!)
8. Metallica - Wherever I May Roam
9. k.d. lang - Constant Craving
10. Shawn Colvin - Object of My Affection

BONUS TRACK: Thomas Dolby - I Love You, Goodbye

Two repeats, three if you count the bonus track, and a different Black Crowes tune.
Let's get right to it.
