BOS: The godness on the mountaintop!  (Which I just heard earlier this week on a Have a Nice Day comp!)
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

God-ness jinx!  (And the phonetic English is even more glaring on the follow-up, "Mighty Joe," which I would love to hear Shakira sing.)

I may have asked before, but ever hear their "Never Marry a Railroad Man"?  It may have been the flip of Venus; it got some NY airplay at the time.

Summer of '69 flashback (sans Bryan Adams): I didn't yet have an FM radio, and I spent many hours in the middle of the night listening to CKLW Detroit and WKBW Buffalo on my tinny, tiny transistor. And that's where I first heard "Marrakesh Express".

proxy of shray 2: "Two Hangmen".

I've never heard this hangmen song before.  Nice to hear once, but I imagine it must be tedious to hear that and "Atlantis" back to back.

I never have.  Hope I do, though.

VHM to the 5Ds for Coke.  I have a secret fondness for the adult pop of the period that teeters toward Beautiful Music (wrong term?).

PS: This was post 5555 . . .

indeed -- "beautiful music" is, as Don Pardo would say, strictly instrumental (plus choral stuff like Ray Coniff).  In 1969, no Beautiful Music station woulda been caught dead playing the 5-D (too rock-n-roll!).
