Yep, Dave alluded to same during the morning show. Hope it's as good as yesterday's but there's a lot of bay area schlock out there that he didn't approach yesterday.

But let's try to come up with 10 non-schlocky bands he might easily play:

Graham Central Station
Malo
Montrose
Dead Kennedys
late 80s Todd Rundgren (he lived here then)
Sylvester
Doobies
Jefferson Starship (not the non-Jefferson variety, thanks)
Big Brother
Sons of Champlin (OK, slightly a stretch)
Journey (pre-77)
Commander Cody
Let's get right to it.

Exactly--I just brain-dumped that list, I'm sure there are far more I missed--like Translator.

Yep, also Greg Kihn, so we might easily hear his cover of For You.

sure, even east coasters like Greg Kihn & Eddie Money.

That being said, the one band that would totally make my day would be Rancid

And that also brings up the possibility of other Gilman St bands, like Green Day and Primus.

Is it me, or does the pitch on Fortunate Son keep fluctuating? Dave pull out the 45 for this one?

Calling Counting Crows a bay area band is kind of a stretch, at least after their first album. I think they all bailed to LA.

Hell, he's singing about the canyons of LA, for cryin' out loud.
