WOS (and Worst Grammar of Set, too): "Lay Lady Lay."  Bobby, I have no idea what you were thinking; record-buyers of America, same.
But I remember the night it came out, and some guy just repeating over and over again "I threw it all away" in total awe.  Some of it is silly, but NS is well worth owning.

Guess that makes Bob the original rapper!
I have no idea what the thread is, but with all this hoopla about hiphop at school, I've been thinking of "Subterranean Homesick Blues" as if it was a rap song.  Not too hard to imagine Run DMC doing it.

the official list
« Reply #65 on: February 28, 2005, 10:28:33 PM »
it was pretty hard to tell what the list is, what with all the grammar posting!  My BOS would have been split between the Who, Nilsson, and Tull.  Wouldn't it be grand if we could actually ever hear the original Fred Neil version of Everybody's Talkin'?

2/28/05 - Monday!  Time to visit...1969!!

Who - Pinball Wizard
Bob Dylan - Lay Lady Lay
Nilsson - Everybody's Talkin'
Fireballs - Long Green
Jethro Tull - Nothin' is Easy
Marvin Gaye - Too Busy Thinkin' 'Bout My Baby
The Frost - Mystery Man
Led Zeppelin - Babe, I'm Gonne Leave You (B-O-S!)
Blood, Sweat & Tears - And When I Die
Beatles - You Never Give Me Your Money

MOVIE:  Midnight Cowboy

Indeed, I am far from the first to call Dylan "the original rapper". About 10 years ago a studio group calling itself The Mystery Tramps did a rap version of "Like a Rolling Stone". There was some debate as to whether it was serious or satire (I thought it was hilarious).
