Either one.  Any verb can be used in the imperative (order giving) voice.

But while you can say "Run!", it doesn't make any sense to say "Put!"  "Put" requires an object..."Put your clothes away!"

so dylan isn't using bad grammar, after all. he's giving a direct order.

Like I said, if Dylan sang it: "Lay, lady, lay...lay yourself across my big brass bed," then it would be OK.

Urth the difference isn't that profound, I really was an English teacher for about 6 years.  I'm just using the terms that are in the text books.

Indeed.  It's another week of ignoring the the 9:00 pop quiz since I don't have any desire to go to Great America and hear Collective Wimpiness.  Bleah.

EDIT:  This is NOT IT!!!

the 10@10 Bonus track -- a new interactive feature; you can vote on the website for the 11th song, and then Annalisa plays it.  Can't find the page with the choices, tho'

WTF!!

Finger 11 is about far from 1969 as we can get.

Regarding Spring Break, keep in mind that my building is across the street from the main entrance.  If anyone wants to go just for the rides or what not, we can meet up here to pre-function.  It has also been my experience that I can get tickets at the door just by asking nicely.

Is that what he said?  Or is that just an "11 at 11" reference?  I'm a little slow today after being on vacation in Washington last week.  Was supposed to be playing in the snow, but there really wasn't any.  "Steer It Up" isn't from '69, is it?

Now we know.  Sort of.  It's the #2 song from 1969, which is good, since I believe the #1 song was "Sugar Sugar" by the Archies.  The question was (just now), what was the movie clip and who was in it?  The prize is a T-shirt.  Not gonna spoil my eligibility for that one.  Heh.  Anyway, it's Midnight Cowboy with Jon Voigt and Dustin Hoffman?  Right?

It's a trivia question: what was the movie clip and name the 2 main actors in the film.  the song is coming... after still more commercials. An interminable wait for a song and a T-shirt, if you ask me.

Sly, "Hot Fun..." Nice, but jeez, WAY too much vamping. If this is gonna be a daily thing, I opt out.

Sounds like they're trying to get 10@10 listeners to hang on and not tune away after the set is done. Could be that Annalisa's not holding onto the audience the way they'd like her to.  But they're going to have to come up with something better than a t-shirt, methinks.

Can't say I did anything to contradict that when I was filling out my Arbitron diary a few weeks ago--soon as 10@10 was done, I was pretty much done with KFOG for the day, at least til 10pm.
Let's get right to it.

I missed this entire exchange b/c our internet connection went droppo.  Was the question "what was the overall #2 song of 1969"?  I would think it went (1) Aquarius / Let the Sun Shine In, (2) Sugar Sugar, (3) In the Year 2525 ...

no no no...

the trivia question was "what was the movie clip (Midnight Cowboy) and who were the two stars?"  Annalisa promo-ed the "bonus track" as a #2 song from '69, not THE #2 song.
