Checking out Sweeney and the Rock Show on CG for the first time in months, and he just played a couple songs that totally rocked my world: Tom Robinson's 2-4-6-8 Motorway, followed by Question by the Moodies. Both fookin' gleat, as I'm sure Sweeny himself would say if he weren't on the air.

And he just followed those up with Donovan's Universal Soldier, and Johnny Winter's take on Good Morning Little Schoolgirl. Nice array of stuff today.
Let's get right to it.

I used to argue that "Honeybee" was the first "disco" song, when I incorrectly thought it had come out in '73 rather than '75.  Now I'd go with either "Rock Your Baby" or "TSOP" or "Love's Theme."

I'll have to start listening to Sweeney again on Fridays now that VIP is MIA.

8:43 pm - Rare Earth - I Just Wanted To Celebrate
8:46 pm - Steppenwolf - Magic Carpet Ride
8:50 pm - M - Pop Muzik
8:53 pm - John Cougar Mellencamp - Rumbleseat
8:56 pm - Television - See No Evil

Fabulous as always -- they rock!  But I'd highly advise you to switch to the Bone, Little Steven just started his annual "St Valentine's Day Massacre/Love Stinks" show.  Always a treat, and nice to know some traditions continue.

... and Little Steven so far has not disappointed. Segue of the nite (so far): from The Crystals' "He Hit Me (And It Felt Like a Kiss)" into Lou Reed's "Vicious".

Vicious... why don't you swallow razor blades?
You must think I'm some kinda gay blade...

I did, but much of it went by in a blur as I was focused on my presentation.
