I tuned in late too--that was my thought as well.
Let's get right to it.

Actually, we didn't tune in late: Dave said "and then he said..." and Don Pardo was MIA.  But there was a smidgen of Bowie's "1984" as a clue. Weird.

Ah, here' Ben Orr to "Drive" us into '84.

No offense taken, if that's a jab at Yes.  I'm still a big fan, but I never really liked their 90125 sound...

Ronnie begins bombing; Frankie begins flaming.  BOS "2 Tribes"

I'll be bailing in about 10 mins for a meeting.  Post any significant breakouts/gaffes.

Wonder if Don Pardo finally went to that big studio in the sky? I always figured when he goes, we won't be hearing him announce the year or anything else any more.

I'm sure when it happens, we'll hear about it. I think this was just a technical glitch today.  Yikes, APP with a "Prime Time" rhyme crime.

Yeah, and it occurred to me that I think 1984 is one of those years that Dave uses the computer voice to announce the year, rather than DP. So you're probably right.

Oooo, BOS Hall & Oates. Not their strongest, but compared to most of the rest of today's set so far, it'll do.
Let's get right to it.

VHM Rona Elliott; BOS2 H&O, "Out of Touch"  -- 'cause soul really matters to me (too much).

Well, I'm off -- enjoy what remains.

Dave just played a montage of radio ads that included a Loewenbrau beer ad that was so totally of the mid-80s I almost felt the urge to do cocaine. But not. Def. worth listening for if you catch the replay.

Since the H&O tune we've heard SRV, Icicle Works, and now Marillion (I think), for those keeping score at home.
Let's get right to it.

Ah, yes--that is it. Thx for the backup there. Decent 80s prog-pop.
