the obligatory H&M clip. But now that I've actually seen the film, I don't mind.

At the risk of having my Hipster Card revoked: I really don't get all the fuss about Harold & Maude.

But this Cat Stevens song is nice.

Also, if you want to be me- be me. But you've got bills due, Mister.

ETA: I mean, yeah it's hella touching that depressed harold digs wacky Maude & he's young & she's, like, a million and lives in a goddam train car. But, I dunno....

And as I added to my original post- you're absolutely right. I think my problem with it stems from this: I first saw it with a buncha people who thouht they were oh-so-sophisticated. And they just laughed and laughed at everything. It was clever & quirky, but rolling on the ground funny? Nope.

The love story part is great- but I'm afraid I'm a victim of "hipster hype".

Best performance by a red-blooded heterosexual imagining himself to be a dying gay man: Bruce.

VHM.  Nothing like trying to make a bunch of nelly male dancers look like butch, tough gang members.

Ha!

I just saw this from the IMDb trivia for West Side Story:
Although the producers tried to keep the different gangs separate during filming to create tension, Russ Tamblyn (Riff), said that he knew of at least one Jet who was "roommates" with a Shark through filming.

"the talented mr. ripley" i knew i'd heard that song somewhere before. i hated that movie. i really wanted to like it. i waited a long time to see it. but it was bad. and long. almost as long as i waited to see it. not even seymour-hoffman could save it.
