Astoundingly, this is the first time Dave has done an Oscar-themed set in the nearly 13 years I've been listening.  And these are songs HE is picking, none of that "Fogheads choose" crap (thank god!).

Predictions:

"Footloose"
"Do You Know Where You're Going To"
"Can You Feel the Love Tonight"
"My Heart Will Go On" (shudder ... spudder ... thunk)

This could get real bad, real quick.

You obviously didn't hear Dave's explanation about 15 mins ago. He said he looked at a list of Oscar-winning stuff and decided most of it "shouldn't be on the radio on a Friday morning". So we're getting his patented eclectic mix of stuff he thinks SHOULD be remembered. So chill, dude.

Righto.  Greg asked Dave why he seemed to have a bit of doubt in his voice as he talked about it, and Dave responded, "Well I know I'm going to like it, I'm just not sure about anyone else."

In fact I called in to suggest that "as a gag, you should play the first couple bars of 'You Light Up My Life', just to scare people."

He didn't see the humor in it, although either Peter or Greg (or both) were chuckling in the background.  All he said was, "See that's why we're not sticking to Oscar-winning songs."

So like Mike said, chill.  I think this is going to be good.

LOL!  NYC actually has a radio station called "Chill 101.9"  Oddly, I have a strong desire to experience another NYC winter before I get too old to enjoy it.

"View To a Kill" is NOT the Best James Bond song ever- it's just the one you had in your archive & that was pre-ordained by your Radio Overlords, Dave Morey.

"Thunderball"... now THAT'S a James Bond theme.

initial score: Renee 1 Peter 0, although I would rather here Shirley Bassey myself.
