and, BTW, here's what we missed in yesterday's '77 set... not only Linda Ronstadt but Mr Loaf, "2 out of 3", which is another song Dave has inexplicably never played.

  1.  Linda Ronstadt  -  It's So Easy
  2.  10cc  -  The Things We Do For Love
  3.  Heart  -  Kick it Out
  4.  Steely Dan  -  Josie
  5.  Bad Company  -  Burning Sky
  6.  Fleetwood Mac  -  Gold Dust Woman
  7.  Muddy Waters  -  Mannish Boy
  8.  Eddie Money  -  Baby Hold On
  9.  Meatloaf  -  Two out of Three Ain't Bad
10.  Foreigner  -  Cold as Ice
You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round

Funny, I just had "Josie" in my head yesterday when I made my rude comment about party hats and streamers for the Pope's demise.  "We're gonna break out the hats and hooters when Popie goes home," or something like that.

But BOS would have gone to either "Gold Dust Woman" (sometimes Stevie was a quite lucid lyricist, contrary to popular misbelief) or "Cold As Ice" (I love licks like that and Squier's "Rock Me Tonite," is there a term for that kind of staccato chordage?).

VHM Jimmy Buffett -- when he was good. A fine piece of songwriting, fie on anyone who says otherwise.

In a year as robust as 1975 was for music, why would one ever consciously play Jimmy Buffett?  "Come Monday" isn't a bad song, but it's still a snoozer, and especially inappropriate for a Friday.

I'd much rather hear a trifecta of Led Zep's "Trampled Underfoot," Carole King's "Avenue P," and the Four Seasons' "Who Loves You," followed by the obligatory Red Octopus nod.

WOS to the Eagles, "Already Gone."  Glenn Frey never had a point.  At least it's not "Heartache Tonight," one of the worst songs ever written.
