these wacky Brits -- they just LOVES them some Alexander O'Neal! "If You Were Here Tonight", which reminds me of RFTW's "Love Me Down" crossed with some Freddy Jackson song I can't pin down.

I prefer to keep the white folks to a bare minimum on Soul Spectrum :wink:

It's a slippery slope... you start with Basia and next thing you know, it's Maroon 5.  And here they are on SmoothFM! Why do people hate them so?

are we feeling a bit... contrary today, geoff? :?

EW did a bit this week where they invited Aimee Mann, Michael Penn, David Cross and Desmond Child to watch the Grammys and make running commentary.  EVERYBODY had snarky things to say about Maroon 5, so clearly it's not "hip" to like them; but what I've heard of them so far has been pleasant, slick pop.
