And we start with a Raspberry Beret.

ETA: An 80s set was a foregone conclusion today. Normally I'd cringe at the thought, but the last few mid-80s sets Dave's come up with have tossed up the usual formula quite nicely. So I'm kinda curious to see what else we hear.
Let's get right to it.

Nice start -- BOS.  Has it really been 6 weeks since we did '85?

Never mind about 10at10, Rumsfeld is stepping down!  This is a good day, amigos.

It's a perfect way to make the girls (and boys) go crazy!

Watching Bush at the podium now.  Hard to not slip into Schadenfreude.

I bet he wishes he could have "a margin of error for two".

Cars working formula, albeit well, on "Tonight She Comes," their last major hit.

BOS #2 Pete.  Loved this whole album then & think it still stands up quite well.

He's been predictably defensive, no jaw-dropper quotes of note so far, but he keeps reverting to the same spin quote for Rummy's departure: "fresh perspective."  He attributed the GOP losses to impatience with Iraq and a few unethical sens/reps (paraphrased).  Jim Rutenberg of the NYT just asked him point blank if we'll see a change in his leadership style, and he's incapable of anaylzing these winds of change at a level deeper than "they won, and so we've gotta work with 'em."

Aaargh.  He looks forward to turning the war on terror into a "Cold War".  This is painful.  What's playing?
