and Rob promises "5 songs we've never played before on 10@10."  The ears perk!

TOTHC: "Pull Up to the Bumper!"  Too early for me to dig on that long black limousine, but major chutzpah points!

Mike is gonna regret not waking up early.  It's the "Hill Street Blues" theme for a good 40 seconds.  (I thought he was going all the way with it.)

Holy Crap! Sorry I missed that one. A major WBLS hit in '81.

Memo to Mr Crapton: I can't stand it either.

BOS Depeche Mode when they were... lighthearted and poppy.

HM to Arthur -- guess Rob's a fan -- but I wish he'd gone even further and played the Chris Cross theme.

another VHM to Ms Jett.

BTW, did she write "I Hate Myself For Lovin' You" (which has been morphed into the Sun Nite Football theme) or was that an outside acquisition -- Bon Jovi, maybe? I'm wondering who gets the resids every week.

She cowrote it with Desmond Child, who had a hand in many of the pop-metal hits of the period, including the Bon Jovi stuff, so good ears.

BOS2 That Sexy Voice, "Jealous Guy" which became a big UK hit in '81 after Lennon's death.

And a tasteful close it was.

(Didn't know that had been a UK #1, or that it had been their only one.)

Grace Jones - Pull Up to the Bumper
U2 - I Fall Down
Joe Ely - Musta Notta Gotta Lotta
Eric Clapton - I Can't Stand It
Depeche Mode - Just Can't Get Enough
Squeeze - Is That Love
Tommy Tutone - 867-5309/ Jenny
Bob Dylan - Groom is Still Waiting at the Altar
Joan Jett - I Love Rock & Roll
Roxy Music - Jealous Guy

A *very* interesting '81 set -- rather Ginger-like, except for the Grace Jones, which I suspect she'd never play.
