Church house, gin house, schoolhouse, outhouse: Tina calls it Nutbush, I call it BOS.

"Give Me Love (Give Me a Rewrite of Dylan's 'I Want You' Refrain)" gets HM, as does the segue from Paper Moon into "What Is Hip?"

Jeezus F---ing Christ! Bowie, "Lady Grinning Soul". BOS for rarity alone.

ETA: too bad the Monkees weren't still around at this point -- I can imagine Micky doing a mean cover of this.

Very intriguing idea!

WOS to Rambling Song.  Sorry, I just can't get with southern-fried rock.

PS: Though the Monkees were done, Micky was looking for a solo deal around this time, and recorded a solid cover of Nilsson's "Daybreak" that barely saw the, uh, light of day.

HM2 to "Just One Victory," a keystone in my "Songs for Underdogs" compilation earlier this year.  "Give us the will . . ."

I'd love to hear that -- one of my fave Nilsson songs. Indeed, Harry's version was something of a nonstarter itself and shoulda been a much bigger hit.
