Did ya catch the last tune? Gene Loves Jezebel, didn't catch the song title.

"Desire" - or, as they actually sing it, De-sigh-air-air

I wish he'd play their "Motion of Love" sometime.

Paging the great Gazoo--it's the epic and insipid KBC Band with their ode to America. I dig the message, but the song just doesn't get it for me.

I always like the vocal harmonies when K&B get together.

Too weird: I was just reviewing a song called "America" this week for the Stylus Singles Jukebox and it got me thinking about the KBC song, which I haven't heard in several years (I have the album, but it's really limp; only "Mariel" is really salvageable amidst Kantner's grumblings).

1.  Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls
2.  Level 42 - Something About You (BEST OF SET!!)
3.  Steve Winwood - Freedom Overspill
4.  KBC Band - America
5.  Falco - Vienna Calling
6.  Mike & the Mechanics - All I Need is a Miracle
7.  John Cougar Mellencamp - Rumble Seat
8.  Robert Cray - Nothin' But a Woman
9.  Sting - Russians
10.  Gene Loves Jezebel - Desire (Come & Get it)

BONUS TRACK:  Talking Heads - Wild Wild Life

MOVIE: Blue Velvet

Wow, both Dave and Inessa played the same Level 42 song for completely different reasons!

That's actually a very decent '86 set from Dave, I look forward to the replay tonight, esp the Winwood, which we used to call "Semen Overspill".

I predictably disagree.  I find the song quite inspiring, and need to dig up the CD so I can add the MP3 to my  iTunes.  And yes, Mariel is very good.  It's different for me too because of age, and I was professionally involved with K, C, and the guitar player (Slick) at the time.  Crank it!

Slick Aguilar, if memory serves. Don't know what else he did.
Let's get right to it.

Very little else AFAIK.  He still tours with the Jefferson Whatever machine.
