for some reason, it struck me as odd that John Fogerty would sing "Fortunate Son" at an NFL event, which seems to be the essence of the Silver Spoon Set.  I wonder if he did this spontaneously, or if it was always planned.  Yeah, I read too much into things.

I'm amazed they let him sing it; his most political, not to mention still-relevant, song.

I honestly, honestly expected someone to storm the stage and shove a flag down his throat.

And as my brother pointed out, it was odd for Fogerty to be there in the first place: Why not a local son like Seger? (Who has a new album to promote, to boot?)

Sorry I couldn't get picks in; I was swamped with work leading up to my Pgh departure, and internet access was pretty much nonexistent at my mom's (but Pgh stories will go in another thread).

Oh wait, that was Billy Joel.

Dunno if you saw the DEN/KC game, but Fogerty got on a plane after the Detroit set and flew to KC and performed at that half-time as well -- I missed the early one; not sure if he did the same set both times but "Fortunate Son" was (I guess) done at both.  Maybe Seger wasn't available to do both (or didn't want to eat Turkey on a plane).

Little Steven has been playing a track from the Seger CD, it's not bad. I wonder if KFOG will bother with it.

Guess I was last to enter this week. Now I'm feeling a little nervous that y'all picked CAR but my gut says PHI.

I have gone back to the KFOG website and switched my pick in the MIA/JAC game because of the injury report.  I really, really was on the fence with the BAL/CIN game & just knew I was going to blow the pick.  And I did.  Oh well.

You & me both, bub -- I thought about all the times this season I picked Cincy and they lost, so I went with the Ravens (who I still hate for what they did to Gannon and the Raiders back when). Just shows to go ya.
