J. Geils
Chicago
Cher
Moody Blues
Eddie Kendricks
Helen Reddy
Paul Simon
Stevie Wonder
Sir Paul
Ringo
Billy Preston
John Denver (has he ever made a 10@10 appearance?)

If he has, it's only been in a HFH cheese medley.

What hits did Elvis release in '73?  "Burnin' Love" was '72 IIRC.  (And I think that was his last Top 10 hit, but I could be wrong.)  I'm not up to speed on his later hits except for "Way Down."

Maybe you could suggest an instrument theme on the order of the "brass" and "cowbell" sets?

good luck with that!  those 3 haven't made any non-HFH appearances afaik.  (Bob has played "gypsies, tramps" and "half breed" occasionally, tho')

'72 and '73 seem to be getting short shrift this year--this is only the 4th visit to '73, and I believe last week's '72 was the 4th for that year in '06 as well.  70 and 71 are even more notable by their absence--four visits to 71 (including one classic) and only two to 70 so far this year. A travesty, I tellya.

BOS2 TOP, So Very Hard to Go.
Let's get right to it.

not a big year for the King -- "Steamroller Blues" got to #17.  Not a big singles year for Neil Diamond, either, tho' the execrable Jonathan Livingston Seagull LP sold well.

The Alaska pipeline clip is particularly timely, since it appears they have't done much to maintain it since 73, resulting in the shutdown of one of the larger sources of oil to the West coast and likely gas prices jumping yet again. Can we sue the oil companies for bad management? You think they'd maintain their equipment....grrrrr.

Screw maintenance. They just pocket the cash. I was happy to fill up yesterday at $3.17. WTF!

$3.17? That's outrageous! The 76 at 19th and Judah had it for $2.93 on Sunday. (Which is still outrageous, but a .24 difference is significant.)
