The Peak, 08/01/06: It's 1981

Chosen in part because of MTV's 25th anniversary.  I was afraid the set would kick off with the obvious Buggles, but instead we start with Lene Lovich's "New Toy."

"Sometimes you make me feel ... nothing at all."
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

DAMN! so sorry I missed Lene. That's one you'd think Dave would love, but he's never played it.

Arrived for "Hang Fire". Say whutdehell, say whutdehell!

Hey, princess... I saw that Helen Mirren/Cuba Gooding Jr movie yesterday. Yikes, quite a mess. But The Mirren was great -- I think she's genetically incapable of a  bad performance.

And Macy Gray made a VERY convincing junkie 'ho.

lots o' sex between Mirren & Gooding -- Cuba's butt gets more screen time than some of the supporting cast.  And Mo'nique makes a great vengeful crackhead. But I'm making it sound better than it is, I think.
