Grace Potter:  "Nothing But The Water"

Homepage:  http://www.gracepotter.com/
Video/audio:  http://www.indie911.com/grace-potter

Heard on KFOG around 9PM tonight with very little talk-up from Big Rick (or maybe I missed it).  22-year old Vermont woman with a voice that reminds me of Joan Osborne.  I need to hear more, but what I heard on the radio sounded great.

Maybe we'll hear her on KPIG or KRSH?

I'll check her out. I like Joan. I saw her years ago perform with the Dead at a Warfield show.

Aw shoot -- I didn't mean to start a new topic.  This shoulda been under New Music.  But anyways, here's a few more new artists that are worth a listen.

Maggie Brown:    http://www.myspace.com/maggiebrownmusic
Natasha Alexandra:  http://www.nlxmusic.com/
(Warning -- skip the glitchy first dance track.  I was struck by track 2, "Behind Your Back")

Found via a nifty Google Maps + common interests + MySpace mashup called Frappr.  Paul Thorn's is here:  http://www.frappr.com/paulthorn

And his fans have some good taste in tunes.
