Ooh, I like this lazy-party number with the scatting and horns, but I have no idea at all what it is.

VHM Rickie Lee Jones, "Woody and Dutch on the Slow Train to Peking", retread of "Danny's All-Star Joint" tho' it may be.  An across-the-board breakout nonetheless, AFAIK.

BOS2 Squeeze, "Messed Around" -- haven't heard this on the radio since it was current.

Him solo, not Buzzcocks?  First time I've ever heard it, though I've heard of it.  Co-BOS with the Go-Gos, great for a summer Friday.

He's homo-superior in his interior. Er, we'll be the judge of that, Pete.

The first time I heard that song (which never got much play in NYC, I'm sorry to say) was in the Spring of that year, when a friend passed along an aircheck of then-new KROQ in LA (like, ohmigod! a New Wave station!).  Several months later Long Island's WLIR became NY's first "Rock of the '80s" station.

You suppose the first draft went "in his posterior"?
