Really? I figured he'd be out til July 5th. But I guess a week with the parents is enough for just about anyone.
Let's get right to it.

Dug the seg from "Arthur" into Tide is High--John Gielgud was great, albeit not exactly challenged by his role as Dudley Moore's butler.

And now a certified '81 'trina, Generals & Majors. Love it, but heard it. A lot.
Let's get right to it.

Did that Reno Hilton ad that followed the set say that Sonic Youth would be playing there this summer (along with Lynyrd Skynyrd and INXS)?

I'm speechless.

Didn't hear it.  I'm on KPIG now, where you should be (if not on RadioParadise).

Yes.  I've heard that ad a bunch of times, and am astounded every time. Are SY fans high rollers?

My 1981 sounded totally different, though that was surely influenced by my mom's taste in radio stations at that point:

Air Supply
Foreigner ("Waiting," not the rock stuff)
Marty Balin
Pointer Sisters
Diana Ross/Lionel Richie
ABBA (esp. "The Winner Takes It All")
Barry Manilow (nearing the last of his Top 40 hits -- though I doubt anyone fondly remembers "One Voice" or "Some Kind of Friend")
