I saw Joe Jackson last night.  He was very good.  Didn't do this particular song.

Sounds as if the intro and backsell clips were originally recorded--I don't remember Dave's recollection of his first Pride event in Cincy before.

And y'know--as this set progressed, it occured to me that theme sets aren't necessarily about playing a variety of songs on a given subject, they're also about evoking a certain mood. And this one--or these songs--definitely put me in a specific mental place every year. And I'm cool with that. (Same could be said for the MLK set, which has been the same for the past 4 years at least.)

Besides, I'd have picked Tom Robinson for BOS today, too.
Let's get right to it.

That's a good 'un.  (Where DOES that apostrophe go?)

Right where you put it.  As a rule of thumb, just remember that often the apostrophe goes wherever the missing letters in the word you're abbreviating would have been. And that's your copy editor's tip of the day.
Let's get right to it.

Thanks, though it's a little hard in that particular one, since it isn't clear what letter or letters are missing, since it's basically a misspelling.

so, assuming "un" is short for "one" I'd guess:

Kudos to Rosalie for her Bonus Track: Loudon Wainwright III, "I Wish I Was A Lesbian", bringing the humor dave's Pride sets tend to be a bit short on (Ellen clips notwithstanding).

Wonder if Loudon wishes Rufus was a lesbian.

I was listening in the car as I did a whole bunch of errands, and when TRB came on I found myself thinking, "Well I'm not gay, but I'm glad I have a bunch of friends who are.  My life would be poorer without them."

Especially those of you on this board!

I'll have to split a hair here to clarify this.  (Never invite multiple copy editors to be on your b-board.)  In the case of "good 'un," the apostrophe isn't so much replacing a *letter* as replacing a *sound* (the "w" sound that begins "one").  Hence, "good 'un."

I'd explain further except I just smoked a very large amount of pot.
