BOS Steve Goodman, "A Dying Cubs Fan's Last Request".  I just retrieved a Goodman sampler from a stack of otherwise worthless CDs that someone was throwing out, and it includes this song.

WOS Clapton, shamelessly pandering to his target demo.

I was just reading Ebert's review of the Al Gore global warming movie, and missed Clapton entirely, though my headphones were still on and the muzak playing.  Doesn't say much for for the tune.

Bowie's (and SRV) brought me back though, BOS 2.

Sting got sued over "Every Breath"?  And the following year Ray Parker Jr ripped off EBYT with "I Just Can't Get Over Losing You".  But then he had a rep for that, as Huey Lewis will attest...

Damn sorry I missed that.

"Have Keith Moreland drop a routine fly..."

I have a two-disc Goodman anthology, but it contains a live version of this that I like less than the original.  Is yours the original studio version Mike?

I haven't had time to listen to it (found it literally a week ago); I plan to check it out this weekend.
