Another BOS for Simple Minds, "Promised You A Miracle", another tune that Dave has not played for quite some time.

No, but we've heard New Gold Dream a few times over the last 6 months, if I'm not mistaken. This was Simple Minds' peak, imo, before the ubiquity of Don't You Forget About Me a year or so later.
Let's get right to it.

Oh noooooooooo! Katrinas at Work! amazing this one's not on the above list.

Hey now, the last (& I think only) time we heard this song was on my 40th B-day more than 3 years ago.

That's astounding and hard to believe.

BOS Simple Minds.

"Down Under", "Who Can It Be Now?" & "Underground" are all HUGE Katrina's in 1982, so much so that Dave sometimes plays the first two in '83 sets.

But, astounding and hard to believe as this may sound, no other M@W song appears more than once in the Db. Until today.

I'm also astounded that this Prince tune isn't on that list -- it's one of Dave's faves by the Purple One. And a Narada for me, I don't ever remember hearing this on NYC radio.

It seems to pop up annually, once each in '02, '04, '05 & now '06.  Safe to say it may have shown up once in '03, but there's a big gap in the Db there.

ETA, pretty much the same is true for Big Country, although it gets more airplay in KFOG's regular rotation than it does from Dave.

BOS #3, Culture Club, my favorite song of theirs & a FANTASTIC backing vocal.

And some sparkling harmonica work ta boot.  I really got to put together a 10-song Harmonica Special set.
