probably safer than donny hathaway.

last week on KFOG they were having their weekly American Idol discussion; apparently someone had done "A Song For You" on the show and it had been referred to as "a Donny Hathaway song", and Dave chimed in with "well, he recorded it but Leon Russell wrote it". And then Renee said... "Who's Donny Hathaway?"

and I spit my breakfast coffee all over the kitchen table.

good god almighty.

well at least steely dan makes another appearance. :)

speaking of "a song for you," (and steely dan, oddly enough), i noticed my new next door neighbor was playing [i}morph the cat[i/] one day. a few days later, he was playing the hathaway verion of "a song for you." i knocked on his door to compliment his good taste in music. he plays a mean guitar, and we're scheduled to have a jam session. imagine! of all the flats in all of amsterdam, i had to move into this one!
