The Peak, 3/10/06: 1986 yet again

Winwood's "Semen Overspill" followed by a commercial for Blue Velvet, one of the most overrated films of that decade.

Mr Byrne saves the day with "Wild Wild Life", from another movie I didn't especially like.

BOS2: HoJo, "No One Is to Blame"

Seconding the BOS.  Always loved the song, and though the lyrics are cryptic, I always interpreted it to be a show of sympathy/solidarity for two lesbians buckling under forbidden love.

And I've gotten quite about enough of Peter Gabriel's big fat head this week.

Anytime I hear those opening notes to "Every Little Kiss," I mistakenly think it's a Christmas song.  What was the song that preceded it?

"Get away from her, you BITCH!!!"  VHM Sigourney.

And if it must be Bruce Hornsby, at least it ain't "The Way it Is".  This is the best '86 set of the 3 we've heard this week.

VHM INXS, "Kiss the Dirt".  Which Mr Hutchence actually did a few years later.

That's a pretty fine set, the BOC, XTC & INXS are all treasures.  I forget, does The Peak replay at 10:pm?
