Was hoping for 72 but this will have to suffice.

Welcome back to SF, Gaz--hope you're tuned in! Donna Summer, in your honor!
Let's get right to it.

I'm feelin' it!

Ihave a DVD of the Blue Man Group performing this with a guest vocalist.  They really rock out.  Of course their version of Baba O'Reilly is even better.

sacrilege!

I just got the most FAB 2-disc Summer anthology, Donna Summer Gold, the most complete hits collection I've come across. Long versions of everything and it includes the later stuff including "Dinner with Gershwin".  (AND -- it was $7.46 used on Amazon).

But agreed, some Graham Parker ("Hold Back the Night", anyone?) would be swell.

ooo! VHM "Echoes of Love".

those are some effed up chords! did anyone hear the keyboard in the background during the "darling, since you went away" part? echoes of love sound purposely flat. and they're not cute.

Speaking of, Kenny Loggins' son is on tour and heading our way.

Anyone know if Dave's ever played the original Move version of this tune? now THAT's a song I haven't heard in ages.

VHM 10cc, Good Morning Judge.

Some interesting facts on the song "Do Ya", originally by one of the worst-named bands in the world: The Move! (great band, though)

From Wikipedia...

Down to the trio of Wood, Lynne and Bevan, the Move released a farewell disc, a "maxi-single" in 1972 consisting of "Ella James," "California Man" and "Do Ya." "California Man", a No. 7 UK hit, was an affectionate tribute to Jerry Lee Lewis, with Lynne and Wood trading verses and lines, while "Do Ya" became the Move's best-known song in the US, the original version reaching the lower rungs of the American charts in 1972. Meanwhile Wood and Lynne had embarked on a side project, The Electric Light Orchestra, whose remake of "Do Ya" was a US hit in 1977), though it only remained an album track in the UK.

afaik, Dave has never played anything by the Move in the 13+ years I've been 10@10-ing.  Too bad, but I guess that's what CG is for.
