Yep, good start, and an early BOS candidate for me with Los Lobos' fabulous Will the Wolf Survive?--I have to say, twenty years hence, that the Wolves most certainly have survived and even thrived.

Dang, my brother called me & I only got in for the end of "Pop Life".  Fortunately I was listening to that Los Lobos track just last night.

Another BOS for "Three Sunrises", if I were in my car this would be at FULL VOLUME.

So far we have heard 3 of probably my 5 favorite songs of '85.  Now if only Dave would play Sly Fox...

Forgot to mention that I flashed on another LA (or rather, San Diego if you're getting technical) band from this era that'd be great to hear: the Beat Farmers. Yeah, they had a couple of novelty hits with California Kid and Happy Boy, but there were some pretty rockin' tunes on there to back those up--covers of the Velvets' There She Goes Again and a much more lively version of Springsteen's somber Reason to Believe. If Born to Run is what sounds like 15 to me, Tales of the New West was what 25 sounded like.

I liked "Riverside" from their 2nd album, and "Gun Sale At Church".

I'm afraid Pete's getting my Guilty Displeasure today. He seems to get a lot of those from me. Alas.

BOS3 This Man's Too Strong. Not a bustout, but a seldom heard track from anotherwise huge record.
Let's get right to it.

BOS3, one of the least-played tunes from that LP.  An impressive set, considering the year.  Maybe Irish Greg has been on Dave's case?

I remember the first time I heard this on the radio (I already had the album) on KISW in Seattle, and the Deejay said, "Here's my favorite track on Brothers In Arms.  I think this has just got the toughest sounding accoustic guitar ever."

I agreed then & still think of it every time.

Least-played jinx!!

And in that same vein, here's a Duran Duran tune I am totally unfamiliar with (although it's unmistakeably them--or at least Simon Le Bon).
Let's get right to it.
