Tryin' not to fall behind:

1/31/06 - Tuesday!  Good stuff from...1976!!!

Flamin' Groovies - Shake Some Action
Wild Cherry - Play That Funky Music, White Boy
Steve Miller Band - The Window
Leon Russell - Back to the Island (BEST OF SET!!)
Maxine Nightingale - Right Back Where We Started From
Blaze - Silver Heels (vinyl)
Jethro Tull - Too Old to Rock & Roll, Too Young to Die
Boston - More Than a Feeling
Bellamy Brothers - Let Your Love Flow
Bob Marley & the Wailers - Roots, Rock, Reggae
BONUS TRACK:  David Bowie - TVC 15

Pretty fine set--as good as 76 gets, or nearly so.
Let's get right to it.

Wow. Replay with headphones on and turned up is so much better than online at work. I heard things in the Window I never heard before. Ditto with Leon. The sea is indeed rolling in. The sun is setting on the island. Birds are chirping. Girls is grass skirts are swaying gently........
Sharks bleed teal.

OMG! "Silver Heels" -- a FMac cover.  I believe this version is by Blaze, and there's yer vinyl.

Wow, listening on Saturday; I'd never heard this cover.  The original is better, but I gotta give props to someone else having the good sense to cover this tune.

Well, here's my BOS--I believe this is Jethro Tull? Locomotive Breath?

ETA: Well, the bit before the swine flu clip was Locomotive Breath, but now we're hearing Too Old to Rock & Roll. Great song, but the rest of the album is kind of ehhh.

(Locomotive breath wasn't 76 anyway, so I was wondering about that.)

Yeah, was that some sort of double-clutch mistake?

A classic case of hitting the wrong button when programming the CD player, I think. A quick glance thru the catalog of Tull compilations shows that on their Original Masters best-of, "Too Old..." is track 3, while "Locomotive Breath" is track 4. Oops. At least he made a quick and almost seamless recovery, so that anyone not paying close attention may not have noticed anything amiss.
Let's get right to it.
