I'll give a "Most 1976 of Set" to Boston's "More Than a Feeling", which is very high on the list of auspicious debut albums.  But BOS still for Jethro.

I'll take Frampton any day.  Though this does sound pretty good when it's played really loud.

BOS2 Bellamy Bros, a lovely pop single. They went on to write some pretty damn good country songs too, especially the great "Old Hippie".

Okay, be honest everybody, how many of us were actually listening to Bob Marley in 1976?  I wasn't until '78, and even then only knew 2 or 3 other kids who'd gotten exposed.

They didn't write this one though.  One of Neil Diamond's roadies wrote it.

ETA: They did write "If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me)", maybe Dave can play that in the next '79 set.

I was. He was all over FM radio in NYC at the time -- one of the Top 40 stations played "Roots Rock Reggae" heavily as a single.

I remember reading a cover piece in Rolling Stone on him around '76, but outside of hearing him on the radio now and again (RIP KZAP), it was probably a year or more til I heard any of his stuff in earnest.
Let's get right to it.

If ONLY!

BTW, don't I get any Frink points for identifying Blaze? Some people here (no names, please) would be gloating all over themselves for knowing that!

I remember playing that single in college. I believe they were on Epic, iirc.

Hey I'll def. give you frink points for that.  Dave had a momentary pause when he ID'd the vinyl, and I found myself thinking "Is it Blaze? Is it Blaze? Is Mike right?"

and howsabout my knowledge of the writer of the Bellamy Bros track?
