10 great songs from 7 (great?) Rocky movies. Thanks, I think I'll pass.

I'm listening now. Weird theme choice.

I don't know what this a capella "Take It Back" song is, but it's certainly novel.

yeah, if the films had truly produced a bunch of great iconic songs, that'd be one thing, but Conti's original theme, "Living in America" and of course "Eye of the Tiger" are pretty much the only ones that are close to being immortal.

Tried to give this set a listen, but had to bail by song 7. I get that DW is a movie guy and all, but this is a set that didn't need to happen.
Let's get right to it.

The set had clearly jumped the shark when he played the second Survivor tune, though he did admit that it wasn't a very good song.

But if he knew it wasn't a very good song, why did he play it anyway?

Well you may ask! Just not much to choose from, I suppose, thereby illustrating the futility of the whole thing.

1. Bill Conti, Gonna Fly Now (Theme from Rocky)
 2. Take You Back, Frank Stallone (all the Rockys)
 3. Survivor, Eye of the Tiger (Rocky III)
 4. James Brown, Living in America (Rocky IV)
 5. Robert Tepper, No Easy Way Out (Rocky IV)
 6. Survivor, Burning Heart (Rocky IV)
 7. John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band, Heart’s on Fire (Rocky IV)
 8. Frank Sinatra, High Hopes (Rocky Balboa)
 9. Last Breath, Future (Creed)
 10. Ludvig Göransson, You’re a Creed (Creed)

Note: nothing from Rocky V. And I saw Creed a year ago and have no memory of the sndtk. (and BTW for #9, the artist is Future and the song title is Last Breath, not the other way around)

BOS Robert Tepper, a song I'd almost forgotten about.
