28 Sept 2016: it's... 1970

The good news: it's 1970
The bad news: many egregious LNs.

You listening or just looking at the spoiler list? I was gonna listen at 10, for old time's sake.

I try not to peek til I've heard at least half the set. So I haven't seen the list yet, but if tune no. 1 is any indication (Spirit in the Sky) Mike is right. DW's off to a very LN-y start.

ETA: And they have the reverb cranked way up on this one too. I get that SITS has a lot of effects going on, but this is ridiculous.

Sheesh, you weren't kidding. Four songs in so far, and every one of 'em I'd call an LN.

OK, I'm finally ON now, but maybe I should just skip over the first 20 minutes.

Things get a little better starting with tune #5, but nothing I'd call a true rarity.

And #8 just started, another way over-played tune (the BBC-approved "cherry cola" version thereof) by one of my fave bands.

I'm OK with the Jackson 5, especially with the Dick Clark intro.

I'm no fan of the Partridge Family, but I have to smile remembering a silly version someone in the Stanford Band did called "I Think I'm Pregnant".

Heh. That sounds very Stanford Band-ish.

Speaking of the LSJUMB, "All Right Now"!

(Actually, I've heard and played this song so many times, I REALLY don't need to hear it again.)

Word. I feel the same way about Lola. Ditto for Into the Mystic.
