And a pretty decent mix IMHO.  (only a couple of what I'd call egregious FFs)

Yep!

The contrast between the Jan & Dean song and God Only Knows after it is huge.

Love the vintage radio bumper that preceded Cool Jerk, too.
Let's get right to it.

I've been probably the most critical here of his sets (esp older years that I've found too predictable) but this was very enjoyable. And the bonus was a nice move.

I'm good with all of those, plus They're Coming To Take Me Away, just 'cause it's so weird. How did songs like that get on the radio?

There was indeed some controversy about it at the time, which no doubt fueled increased public awareness
of the record.  I recall being in a clothing store that had a jukebox, and when that song came on a salesperson
came over and unplugged it.  (I don't know why they didn't simply remove it from the jukebox.)  I have the 45,
and the B-side is the song backwards, with the song title and artist also printed backwards.

Indeed many stations banned it (after having played it for a few weeks, which is what attracted the protests from mental health groups). It made it to #1 in NYC anyway.
