Well, the TOTHK is another example of choosing the hit over several deeper cuts, but it's Bowie and given his recent demise I suppose the hits are what we're most likely to get.

The ELO selection is a little better, but only a little. Played the CRAP out of this record in the fall of '75.

I am digging the clips, particularly the Mary Hartman one that preceded the ELO.

Big ups to the Rockford Files clip, which led into the Rockford theme, natch. I'd forgotten that there was always a new phone message as part of the lead-in to each week's show. This was a good one.

Prog soul!! I dig that everyone felt the freedom to stretch out and jam back in the 70s -- and that was when album sides rarely topped 20 minutes. Think what they'd do if they had the more-or-less limitless digital formats we have now. BOS2.

Another artifact of '75 to be sure, but this KISS tune (Rock & Roll All Night) is one I didn't need to hear. Man, the production on this song sucks.

But it's immediately followed by a bona fide Eagles rarity (I didn't think there were any left), possibly even a bustout: After the Thrill is Gone, from One of These Nights.

Slightly sexist segue from the Wonder Woman theme to Tush (the latter-day remixed version, imo), and then finishing with a personal fave that's anything but a rarity, 10cc's I'm Not in Love (and I believe this is NOT the long version).

Good point about the Tush transition. Hadn't thought of that, but I was working, and I was happy to hear ZZ Top. A fun set, I'd say.

It's similar in that it has two R&B rarities (Betty Davis & the Pointers vs. Ben E. King and the O'Jays) which I'd call a push, but otherwise I think today's offering is better, imo. Only one artist appears on both (ELO), and hopefully this means we can have a few consecutive 75 sets without hearing Evil Woman again.
