ha! I was trying to figure out where the confusion came from... wracking my brain for other '60s girl singers... but yeah, *he* died.

He's also quite wrong about Nancy's version of "Bang Bang" -- Cher's version was the hit; it was Tarantino who rescued Nancy's version from obscurity by putting it in Kill Bill.

This is a fine theme, certainly deserving of a set to honor the departed (particularly since this version of 10@10 didn't exist at the beginning of the year.)

My one quibble: In the intro DW said there would be deep tracks as well as hits. OK, I am up to track 6 and outside of the Merle Haggard tune, I can't say I've heard anything that I'd call "deep." (I suppose the Dan Hicks, simply because he was a rather "fringe" artist these last 30 years or so, but c'mon, -- I Scare Myself was his biggest hit. I call that one more "obvious" than "deep.")

ETA: And no sooner do I post that than the ELP tune starts. This I would CERTAINLY call "deep."

in the orig version, it was clear he thought Nancy's version of "Bang Bang" was deep, even if he also called it "iconic" -- "I could've played 'These Boots...' but i didn't."

Hmmm, I got *two* emails notifying me that Soundwaves had posted a set this morning -- one at 9:55 as usual, and then another one at 11:30 or so, after Geoff culled the above setlist from their site. I wonder if he actually posted a set with Nancy Sinatra in it, and had to do a quick edit to replace that track with George Martin/The Beatles.

Did anyone listen to the original set that was posted at 10am? It wasn't there for long.
