All-Request Soul Patrol for Fri 11/11

Well since Urth had the lightning fingers to beat me out of posting Thursday's topic, and since I'll be up in the mountains tomorrow morning, my only consolation is kicking off this thread.

Somebody better archive it for me.  Probably this 1971 set as well.  I won't get back until Sat night, so I'll miss the replay & the marathon.

So I emailed Dave with 3 suggestions:

Barbara Acklin, "Love Makes a Woman" (which he still owes me from my birthday)
Staple Singers "Heavy Makes You Happy"
Aretha, "Don't Play that Song"

Of the 3, the Staples is the only one he's played before, and I'm betting it shows up as either TOTHC or Super Hit Six.

Dave sez this is a "perfect set"--hope he's not just saying that....

And off to a fine start indeed: Give up the Funk (tear the roof off the sucker!)--I've had this song in my head most of the week.

Gonna turn this mutha out...!

ETA: (Btw, DM also said the complete list of requested songs is posted on his blog page. I'm going to resist the urge to look until the set is over, just so my mood isn't spoiled by some of the inane foghead requests.)
