Well, it's been quite a while since Dave's done Belly of the Whale, if you ask me. And the song makes me happy.

Dave probably overplays "Belly Of The Whale", too, but I still like it.

I meant no disrepect to the song. I like it, too. As for it's Katrina staus. (shrugs) I dunno.

Let's just forget I said anything. That Nicolette Sheridan's hot, isn't she?

Next time y'all are over at my house I'll have to screen The Sure Thing for you, so you can see what she looked like (as the titular character) when she was 22.

Hey, it's not "Fascination", so I can give a VHM to Human League "Mirror Man".  Maybe someday Dave will play "The Lebanon".  Well, probably that's asking too much.

Indeed, I agree. But what Motown tune are they borrowing liberally from? It's on the tip of my tongue.
Let's get right to it.

She went on to be the female lead in the kinda crappy Gary Cole TV show "The Night Caller", about a DJ who solves mysteries. Or something. She was quite fetching back in the day. Not that she's a plate of tripe now- but back then? Yow! So hot you could get a blister.
nakes? On my plane?

research reveals,
...Most obviously, there's the Motown sound (Philip revealed in interviews that he was emulating both Levi Stubbs' Get Right Back To Where We Started From and The Jacksons' Triumph - (he even went as far as to try to get Quincy Jones to produce, but later claimed this was a ploy to get Martin Rushent to reduce his fees!),
but there's also a clever manipulation of the riff
from ABBA's "Rock Me", and for League fans only, a
chord sequence lifted from Travelogue's "The
Touchables".

The 4 Tops did a cover of Maxine Nightingale??? When??  Or is he talking about a different song entirely? News to me.
