I've been using the phrase "If you don't ask, you don't get" for years, and just now realized it's part of the lyrics for this song. Guess I owe Hugh Cornwell some royalties. :)

I'm guessing she looked at the "alternative" charts for '86 and played the orig without thinking.

Considering how frequently he seems to have his requests played, you'd think he'd be a little more reserved about expressing his narrow-minded opinions.
